Eucalyptus oil possesses antiseptic, analgesic , and anti-inflammatory properties and can be applied topically as a liniment rub for muscular aches and pain, and also as an insect repellent.
The inhaled vapour is useful for relieving congestion, symptoms of colds, influenza, and bronchitis. Place a few drops of the oil in a bowl of hot water and inhale the steam vapour. For younger children, eucalyptus oil can be massage on to the chest and back.
